It's been one of those days where you're a grumbletonian, you don't want to be at work, and you just want to go back home and crash. And it's only Wednesday.....ugh. I guess it could be worse, it could be Monday!
Despite all that, I started a design from the JCS Halloween Collection book yesterday and finished it up this morning. I guess I would call it 'scrap cross stitching' since I used one of the linen scraps left over from my Dans Mon Jardin biscornu project.
As you guys know, my favorite season is the fall. I love the crisp mornings, the smell of fall in the air, and all the lovely things associated with the season like school supplies, leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, Halloween, Thanksgiving....the list can go on and on. (Yes, I said school supplies...I'm a geek you know!) Somehow every year so far, my mother and I have been stuck with pumpkin carving duty before Halloween and this design seemed perfect as my first fall pattern to stitch.
Design: Pumpkins Everywhere by Prairie Schooler
Fabric: 32ct cream Belfast
Threads: DMC 702 and 720
Start/Finish: 8/30-31/2011
I'm not sure how I plan on 'finishing' this design. I've seen some cute fall-themed photo frames at Hobby Lobby that might work if I don't think of another way to finish this design :)
Until next time ^____^

Poor bunny...Hope all that stitching made hump day better. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins are really cute. You should make it into a wrap for a hurricane candle holder or a straight vase. That way when the candle is lit, you will have the silhouette of your cute pumpkins. :)
Yahooey! Halloween is just around the corner. One of favorite times of year. Cute stitching project.
