Pastry

Another pastry feltie tonight. I tried a white background with blue frosted seed beads. Sadly, you can't really see the beads against the white felt. In the future, I'll try a dark color for the 'frosting' so the beads show up well against it ;)

English Pudding

I wish I had a holly button for the top of this one! Or maybe even a cherry button. (sigh) I really need to build a nice stash of buttons for my finishing :)

Let Them Eat Cake!

Well, not really, but you get the idea ;) This is my experiment at a pattern in Jeanette Lim's Big Little Felt Universe book. The only thing I didn't do was the cardboard insert which would have given my feltie a bit more stabilization.

I wish I had a thread color that matched the brown felt more precisely, but it's all I had in my stash of DMC threads.

What do you think?

PB & J

A little PB&J cutie even though I'm not a fan of grape jelly at all!

Until next time ^____^

Don't Eat Me!

Isn't it cute? I found a template for an egg-shaped plushie online. I decided to partially stitch the egg on the top and then add some stuffing to it before stitching it up completely and continuing on with the rest of the plushie.

Are you watching the Oscars tonight? I'll watch as long as my eyes will allow....hopefully I won't fall asleep before the end!

Feeling a little witchy!

Design: Witch House 1642 Salem, MA by Marion Dove Werth
Fabric: 28ct unknown light blue linen
Threads: DMC
Start/Finish: Sometime 2010, restarted and finished 2/7-26/2012

Good afternoon! I've been quite diligent about finishing this design this month. Since I'm waiting on my order of black felt circles for my felties, I decided to spend my time this weekend on the Salem Witch pattern.

I was able to put the finishing backstitches on the lettering at the bottom a few moments ago. As you can tell, the design isn't a large one, just a bit cumbersome with all the same colors over and over again....not to mention the ancient chart it comes from. I'm sure some of you stitchers out there know what I'm talking about when you have an older chart where all the symbols look alike, it makes for hard deciphering when stitching.

I'm so glad to be able to take this sampler off my WIP list on the sidebar! Woohoo!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Breakfast goodies!

Another jam and toast feltie tonight and an experiment with making a breakfast pastry feltie. I used Mill Hill seed beads as sprinkles on the tart ;)

In other news, I found a seller on Etsy that sells die cut circles. I've ordered 1/4" and 3/8" circles to use as eyes on my felties. I'm horrible at cutting circles so I'm glad to have found someone on Etsy who sells them :P

Package Received!

This year it seems that Valentine's Day crept up on me. Don't know why, but it did...possibly because I've been busy crafting and stitching....LOL

I sent my friend Amanda a small package on Saturday and it arrived in CA today. I sent her a cute red dragon, two books (The Masque of the Black Tulip by Lauren Willig and Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey by Countess of Fiona Carnarvon), a magnet menu/grocery planner, and a box of chocolates.

I'm glad you liked all your gifts, Amanda ^___^

Jam and toast

I took a break from stitching tonight to make this cutie!

Until next time ^____^

Sprinkles bracelet

I made this bracelet yesterday morning with sprinkles and Magic Glos resin. For those of you who don't know, Magic Glos resin is a polymer/jewelry resin that sets up in sunlight. It's perfect for bezel settings!

The only thing I don't like about this bracelet is the tiny air bubbles in the resin, but otherwise it's quite cute ;)

The bracelet cost me $1.25, the resin was $6, and the sprinkles were sitting on the shelf in the kitchen begging to be used >___<

Rose buttons

Another case where I wish my camera skills were better. Here are 3/4" rose border fabric buttons.

Cherry Love 2!

My experiment this afternoon: 7/8" fabric covered buttons using the cherry and heart fabric from yesterday.

Our dreary weather is still sticking around, no rain, but lots of clouds. They are promising sunny skies tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Cherry Love

One of my projects for this rainy Saturday. The pattern comes from Aronzi Aronzo's Cute Stuff book.

What do you think? It's a tissue holder ;)

I had a hard time with the sewing machine over this one.....LOL.....the bobbin always gives me trouble. I asked for help and my mother made it look like I was a complete idiot.....thanks a lot!

What else do I have planned for the day? Hmm....I think some BBC dramas are in order and perhaps some cross stitching!

Until next time ^_____^

Panda package!

Hi, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend whether it's an extended holiday weekend due to Mardi Gras or a regular one ;)

This morning while I was attempting to sew a project, the mail lady delivered a package from sunny CA! I'm going to direct you to Amanda's post about the package. She has some cuter pictures especially of the cell charms!

No, really.....the priority boxes in CA even have a logo on the side that says 'Greetings from Southern California,' complete with a picture of a car and palm trees.

I have to say that's just not fair! Do other states have neat logos on their USPS boxes? I know we don't............it seems that the USPS is bias towards CA!

But enough about that....time for pictures! Woohoo :P

A super cute panda card from my friend Amanda! It's adorable and fits her personality perfectly!

Cross stitch and stationery goodies! I hardly ever get the Cross Stitcher UK magazine for myself so I'm glad to receive this in my V-day package. Amanda also sent me a lovely set of blank notecards ;)

Some My Melody stationery and some super cute puffy stickers. She got the stickers to use in my resin projects....assuming we have good weather anytime soon for me to work on them!

Jewelry and buttons! The earrings are really cute. A set of jade-colored bunnies and gold stars. And do you see the buttons?! Antique German glass buttons with squirrels on them! O_o" I don't think I'll ever use them.......they are so precious!

..................^_____^

>______<

Lots and lots of yummies! And a cute set of bento boxes with Sugar Bunnies!

*SQUEAL*

~la la la~ I've got Asian candies and goodies! ~la la la~

Do I have to share them?!

Darn! LOL I think I have to.....(sigh)

With a sci-fi/fantasy/anime convention coming up in May, my friend said that she would love to craft some cell phone charms for me to sell. Her bead work is always beautiful.

She sent me a set of butterfly cell charms and two with bows! How cute are those?

Close-up of the charms. I wish my camera skills were better as the colors are these charms are beautiful! I blame my poor skills and dismal lighting due to our rainy weather outside.

Thank you darling for all the wonderful goodies!

Until next time ^____^

Weekend's progress

Good evening! We've had such a cold weekend that I wasn't able to work on my resins outside. The temps were in the 40s during the day and 20s at night so I spent the weekend stitching and doing laundry. I really don't want to go to work tomorrow, I'd rather stitch!

Here's my progress:

Maybe the weather will be good next weekend for resin working. In other news, I've interlibrary loaned some books from the library on felt crafts. Hopefully I'll get them soon ;)

Until next time ^____^

A Witch House

Design: Witch House 1642 Salem, MA by Marion Dove Werth
Fabric: 28ct unknown light blue linen
Threads: DMC
Start: Sometime 2010, restart 2/7/2012

My sister bought this design at a cross stitch store in Salem, MA in 2010. I didn't care for the Aida cloth that came with the design so I bought some light blue 28ct fabric at my LNS when it was still open. Unfortunately I can't tell you for the life of me what the name of the fabric is called.

I started the design sometime in 2010, but only got a few stitches in it before moving on to something else. I restarted the design this week while watching Dark Shadows with my mother.

The design isn't large by any means, only 120 x 72, it's just a lot of green bushes.....so you can see why I stopped! I'm determined to finish it this year....maybe even this month if possible ;)

Aren't you glad tomorrow's Friday? Any crafting plans for the weekend? I'm hoping to work on some resin charms if the weather corroborates!...otherwise it will be another weekend of felties, cross stitch, and laundry O_o" (which isn't bad, but I would love to work on some charms)

Until next time ^____^

Experiments

Good evening, everyone! I decided to do an experiment with my onigiri charms. I used buttons for the eyes instead of felt circles. I'm horrible at cutting felt circles! What do you think of the buttons? I need to find smaller black buttons.

The onigiri on the left looks a bit crazy!! LOL

Tammy had a new template on her blog for luma star plushies! I made one this evening, but without the eyes just as a first try. It's a cute star.

Happy Birthday Charles Dickens!

Don't you just love Google?

Today is Charles Dickens' 200th birthday! He is definitely one of my favorite authors of all time. I credit part of my love for England to his novels.

Take the time to enjoy one of his novels or any of the numerous film versions. It is well worth it ;)

Happy Dance!

Design: 4 Saisons by Anagram Diffusion
Fabric: 32ct olive green Belfast linen
Threads: DMC 498 and B5200
Finish: Block 3 - 8 days total

Well, this weekend just wasn't meant to be spent working on resin charms with our rainy and partly cloudy weather.

I was able to finish the last two motifs on Block 3 this morning! Woohoo :)

I'm going to put this pattern away for a bit and start something else, but I still hope to finish the pattern this year.

Until next time ^_____^

Jasmine

Good afternoon! Our weather has been so unusual this winter that my sister's jasmine has started to bloom. She planted the flowers on two trellis on both sides of my grandmother's front porch a while ago. They are just now blooming....I guess they were getting themselves situated!

I was going to work on some resin charms outside today, but it's quite windy today so I opted for loads of laundry and some cross stitching!

Enjoy your weekend plans!

Until next time ^_____^
