Strolling through London ~ relaxing weekend stitching ♡

Good evening, everyone! It's been a rainy couple of days, which is great for binge watching period dramas and cross stitching.

I'm currently stitching on the British Museum motif. I was joking with my friend Kristina that the amount of time I've spent stitching on that motif, I could have been at least half way through the actual museum's collection.

Makes me wish I could take a vacation to England right now. But sadly whatever vacation plans I had in my mind are gone now that I have a temporary assistant for a year.

I haven't even worked with her yet and I think I'm going to have issues. I was talking to her on Friday about a list that needed to be researched and she asked me how to research.............................

My mouth dropped open, you guys.....like literally. Luckily we were in the library and she had the lights down so she couldn't see my facial expression. I'm glad she didn't see it because it took a lot for me to shut my mouth and calmly answer her question in a decent tone of voice that wasn't panic stricken.

Apparently she had been in a legal office for 18 years since leaving our field, but correct me if I'm wrong, but don't legal offices have to research too?!

Needless to say at this point I am relishing any down time I have at work or at home to read, cross stitch, or crochet because it will do wonders for my sanity.

Any happy thoughts you can send me would be most appreciated!!!

Until next time >___<

  2. Oh my. I was hoping for better for you. Sigh. I'm like you. Take one look at my face and you know EXACTLY what I'm thinking. I have to focus on not acting surprised when I hear silly answers to questions that just aren't that hard. I have no suggestions, just lots of happy thoughts coming your way. Maybe she's just nervous? Either way, stitch on! A lot. LOL

    1. Lol yes, my coworkers think my facial expressions are hilarious. No poker face for me for sure!!!

I hope she's nervous......but who knows. Our boss hired her on the fly without consulting us on what we needed in an asst. She's trying to solve the problem randomly by luck. If you have money for an asst, you have the money to hire someone who works in the field.

.....happy thoughts, exhale.....now on to fighting dragons! Wish me luck :) lol

  3. What a funny question coming from your assistant. We have hired people in my office who have no idea how to use a computer, when all of our work is done on them. Hopefully she is a fast learner.

  4. Yikes! I would have fainted if I had an asst who couldn't type!!! How you can get to the 21st century without knowing how to type or use a computer? Especially in the business world.

At least stitching and reading will keep me calm and sane. Lol
