October Recap

Recap:

Read:
1. Imprudence by Gail Carriger
2. Lord of the Darkwood by Lian Hearn
3. The Tengu's Game of Go by Lian Hearn
4. The Burglar Caught by a Skeleton by Jeremy Clay

Stitching:
Lots and lots of stitching!!!

Other crafts:
None....stitching overruled everything :)

As you can see, it's been an uneventful month in terms of anything, but stitching. But I can't complain as my WIPs are coming along nicely.

Work is hectic. I had a mini breakdown last week and started crying. I know I'm not the only woman who feels ashamed about crying at work. As an independent woman, you want to think you can be in control of yourself at all times. Enter the crying lag....professionalism down the drain!

I'm okay now. Work just seems to be extremely hectic lately. I'm seriously thinking of taking the entire Thanksgiving week as a vacation. Give myself a mental recharge for a little while.

Bright side, November means more stitching and amigurumi work. I need to finish my ornament exchange and work on Christmas gifts :)

Just got to remember the fun things that await me outside of work!!

Until next time >___<

  1. Rachel, you are not the only woman that has had a crying spree at work. I have worked in prisons for 32 years. By the time I cry, it means that I am beyond angry and someone is going to lock-up! Either an inmate for disciplinary reasons, or me for a time out! LOL Between dealing with work, my dad, and too much sugar, I definitely have my days. Hang in there!! And if you've got the vacation time, I say take it. The next two months, with all the holidays, takes a lot of focus. Yes, recharge. Have a great day!

    1. Thanks for the pep talk :)

Why is that women cry when they get angry?! It's annoying.

My crying lag was due to being angry and overwhelmed at the same time. My supervisor kept apologizing like it was his fault. Lol We make our own drama!

Yes, I'm definitely taking time off. Even it's just a week of laziness, stitching, and crocheting....it beats work!

    2. I was scheduled for two weeks of vacation this November. My counterpoint on our other facility really, really wants Christmas off, so she scheduled me for Thanksgiving off. LOL I don't mind either way. I've worked so many holidays and do not have any small children close, but I'll take the three weeks. LOL My son usually comes in January when flights are cheaper and my step-son is only here in the summer.

And now that I've overshared (LOL), I tell you all of this to say...it is okay to do nothing! Hang out, craft, enjoy the day.
