Spring finish!

Hi, everyone! I was able to finish the JBW design A Very Merry Spring last night while watching BtVS. As usual, I love JBW designs, but I think the thread color is a bit dark for the design.

Fabric: 28ct antique white linen M.C.G Textiles
Threads: DMC 3063
Start/Finish: 4/20-22/2010

I'm not sure how I will finish this design. I was thinking either a pinkeep or a pillow. I have some green toile fabric in my stash that might just be perfect for this design.

I won't have time for any other stitching this month as I'll be quite busy with work this weekend and the upcoming week. (sigh) Hopefully, I'll get more stitching done in May.

Until next time ^___^

A Merry Spring

Design: A Merry Spring by JBW Designs
Fabric: 28ct antique white linen M.C.G Textiles
Threads: DMC 3063
Start: 4/20/2010

I started this design this evening while watching Sherlock Holmes on DVD. I hope to finish it tomorrow if I have the time. Sorry for the dark photo! I took the picture using an older digital camera that we have. It doesn't have the capability for a macro setting and it doesn't capture colors correctly.

This design is perfect for the weather we are having. It is still the spring season (thank goodness!), which means pleasant temperatures and flowers in bloom everywhere. Some of our azaleas are still in bloom, they are late this year due to the abnormal winter we had earlier in the year.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Until next time ^____^

Yummy new patterns!

The 2010 Needlework Show is currently going on! Down Sunshine Lane has a link to the show while it is available for the general public to view (it closes Sunday)!

I fell in love with quite a few new patterns! My faves being these two by JBW:

Cute bunnies!

Fall ornaments!

I also saw this cutie by Barbara Ann Designs:

I love the fact that there were several European designers with patterns to view!

Must resist new patterns.....must resist....LOL

Birthday Wishes!

Yesterday was my sister's 26th birthday. We celebrated with pizza and apple pie for dessert. Not traditional, but quite fun.

My mother presented my sister with a bouquet of store bought roses and English dogwood flowers from one of our grandmother's bushes.

Flowers make the best gifts! Until next time ^___^

April finish

Today, I decided to finish two designs that I stitched in March into pillows. After some crazy mishaps with the sewing machine, my mother conquered her nervousness about sewing and stitched together the Good Luck Block design on the right. I stitched together The Lion and the Lamb design on the left. My aunt was good enough to blind stitch the pillows for me as my blind stitching is horrible. (She said we will have a sewing lesson soon to show me how to blind stitch!~)

I also made several more cell phone charms, which I don't have a photo of yet as I don't really have a way to display them. When I find a way then I'll have photos :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

Until next time ^_____^

As you can tell, I haven't done much stitching or finishing this month. I was hoping to finish my two stitched items as pillows, but I haven't had time and right now, I'm sick. Constant sinus pressure....could be the change in weather, an allergy to something in the air, or maybe just a bad cold. I don't feel bad, just tired and hoping that this cold goes away soon. Lots to do at work in the month of April and a continuing cold will not help matters. I also was hoping to do some crafts for an upcoming anime convention.

I am still reading A Child of Mystery, only at night though since I don't want to jeopardize such an old book by bringing it to work.

My goals for next month:

1. Finish A Child of Mystery
2. Lots of crafts - beaded cell charms and polymer charms
3. Hopefully some cross-stitch eventually

Until next time ^____^
